Yes, I was there. I had an initial run with Slackware on a 386. The
box died and I couldn't find anything that would work on a newer (now
ancient) PC. Along came Caldera. I paid my contribution, had some
difficulties, and a Caldera technician actually solved them. Got on
the Caldera list (thank you Mike Andrew), and the rest is history. I
haven't been in the saddle quite as long as Kurt ...

As Kurt said, I don't miss the days of struggling for weeks to get
some package or peripheral to work one little bit. In any case, the
camaraderie from those days is still here on the list, and that's what
counts.
