There must also be millions of not-so-irate users who are doing this
very thing with the very simple grub syntax for fooling Windows into
thinking it's on first. Linux vs Lilo is very much like vi vs emacs:
you'll never convince either group that the other has any smarts.

I've been using grub since I bailed out of Caldera a few moons ago.

The only benefit I've ever heard about using Lilo is in certain raid
situations where Grub is more difficult to configure properly. And, of
course, I'm every so happy not to need to run an extra step after
updating the kernel, not that I ever have to do any of this as a
separate step any more with modern distros.
