Hard Drive Size Limitation

Hi Guys,

I just got home from a rather frustrating installation attempt.

I must also state that I am new to RAID of all sorts.

I was running out of space oa database server partition and had
purchased 6 new 600G SAS drives to replace the 4 300G drive that were
originally installed. The server is a Dell Poweredge 2950 with aPerc5
SAS RAID Controller, 2 2GHz Quad Core CPUs and 32G of RAM.

Anyway, I used the controller to put the 6 new drives into one RAID 5
Virtual Disk of about 2.8 TB. I then booted off my Slackware 12.2
install DVD but found fdsik complaining that there was no cylinders on
the drive. I looked at dmesg and saw that the megaraid and megasas
drivers loaded but the sg and st was said to need updating, kernel is
2.6.27.7 (or maybe .9). It also said that the drive was "Very Large"
and that it was trying "READ CAPACITY (16)".

Is there a drive size limitation in 2.26.27? Or did I forget some
crucial step in creating the virtual drive?

All assistance is very much appreciated!

Shawn
