Actually, It is VERY 2009'ish (Slackware 12.2).
You get to use the KDE 3.5.10 as the default, but can install
KDE 4.2. There is GNOME on the "EXTRAS" as well as slapt-get
there too. Everything just WORKS.
The NICE thing is it has the only WIRELESS util that has worked with
any wireless I have thrown on it - called WI-CD (on the extras). LOOKS
like a good copy of the BroadCom Winbowz util.
The default kernel is the 2.6 series and UDEV is on by default as well.
Patrick even cleaned up the /etc/udev rules mess.
What can I more can I say ?
