Ok, when you defined a new machine... in which to install XP, what does it 
show under the CD/DVD tab...

If you select the "Mount CD/DVD Drive   and then select one of your drives 
(from the pull down tab)  that should do it.

This would all be shown after clicking on the 'Machine' tab.

There's all kinds of settings to do under that machine tab.
