None of my systems have a floppy drive, and none of them exhibit this
behavior (they're a mix of F11 & F12).
How long is a "great deal of time"?
Is the floppy controller enabled in the SBIOS?
What exactly appears on the screen when its looking for fd0 ?
Specifically which kernel version are you using?
