I started with a 110 baud TTY that had a paper tape reader/punch. It
was connected, remotely, to a mainframe. I'm not sure what model but
probably a Univac or CDC. I programmed that in BASIC and ALGOL.
In college I "graduated" to FORTRAN IV using punch cards on an IBM 1170.
Next, it was an IBM S/360 programming COBOL and IBM Assembly language.
Then PL/I, Pascal, Modula 2, C, C++, etc.
I'm as old as the hills.
