gmail and spam

Has anyone else on gmail noticed a marked increase lately  in the
number of spams that aren't trapped by the spam filters?

I'm still getting the 200-400 spams per day that are trapped, but
since Thursday or Friday I'm getting 15-20 a day that aren't trapped.
Most of these are financial and/or real estate topics. Even after
several days of marking them as spam, the filter doesn't seem to be
learning.
