I don't think there's anything wrong with /dev/sda2. I think grub is just
confused. During your Suse upgrade Suse may have rewritten the boot sector to
boot from /dev/sda1 & /boot/grub/menu.lst on /dev/sda1 doesn't have the
correct parameters to boot /dev/sda2.
