Debian 4.0 network/text install from a net-install mini-CD.

Downloaded the Debian network-install iso to a mini-R/W CD.

Pretty odd! (Just kidding. ;-)

I, pretty much, agree with your entire point of view, having worked my up from 
the hardware level, through Unix, DOS & Linux. The problem, I fear, is that 
so many colleges start their courses with Windows & Visual Basic which 
engenders absolutely no understanding of the underlying hardware or 
processes. (My first programming experience, on the other hand, was a 
simplified form of assembler!)
