I remember the infamous "crowbar malfunction" we would get on the
Burroughs computer that programmed the Pershing 1A missile.
This was caused by inadequate grounding. Although the soil in Germany
was usually moist, sometimes it was necessary to moisten the ground
where the ground rods were pounded into the ground. Some enterprising
missileers would pee on the ground rod, sometimes with hilarious (to the
onlookers, not the crewman) results.
