And in fact, virtually all of the images from my kids science project 
website are on Google, and I easily get a listing of that directory.
So it sounds as if I make a directory *with no links to it* anywhere, 
and then use it to hold a simple pdf, it is safe for at least some brief 
period, especially if the directory name is not so obvious to be a word 
that some password searching script might stumble on?
