Joel,
You didn't mention if you were using CUPS or not. However, in my (limited)
experience, using CUPS, all I've had to do is obtain the manufacturers PPD
(sometimes by hacking the Windows driver file) file to access the
printer "printing" features. (I have a Ricoh multi-function printer that
requires the Windows driver to access/setup some of the other features.)
