Nothing VIA or ATI, that's for sure. Intel's workstation line are
good, as is NVIDIA's MCP55.

All NVIDIA graphics cards meet those criteria. Define "basic Linux
graphics". There's nothing that VMware is doing that requires any
accelerated hardware graphics support.
