Firefox 3.0 Issues ...

Save your bookmarks to a file, move your firefox user directory out of
the way, and start fresh. Import your bookmarks. Then see what happens.
Since you lost your bookmarks, I would be suspicious of the auto update
of your settings when moving to 3.0. Maybe this helps things.
