I think you will need to do this yourself, unless you are thinking of
doing something like dynamic DNS where the clients register themselves
with the server (this can be controlled by BIND DNS working with DHCP)

Are you thinking of pushing updates to Windows clients? Are these
Windows patches (like WSUS) or application patches and updates? For
Windows patches, I don't think there is a way yet. If you are managing
Linux servers/clients, then maybe an automated yum script can do the
job?
I know my suggestions are probably not what you are looking for. I work
in a corner of the world where such software is used by only the largest
businesses and government (which, as far as I know, don't use Linux
much). Sorry if this wasn't too helpful.
