I've used motion for a couple of years now as part of the security of my home
office. When motion takes pictures it calls a little python script of mine
to upload those images to the web.
Motion's config file is commented for every option. I don't think it was when
I first started using it. Has options for pan and tilt too. In grumpier
moments I've wondered whether it could be adapted to track motion with more
active burglar deterents. Anyway, might be worth another look for those who
tried an earlier version and didn't like it.
