I use Truecrypt currently for a few different things. I've got a
dedicated HDD that I'm using truecrypt to encrypt the contents on, and
I really can't be happier. I don't notice a high IO or
encrypting/decrypting load on the machine while I'm using the drive,
and I've not ran into any instances where I've came across data
corrpution.
When my NFS server died a few weeks ago, I took this specific drive to
another machine and was able to plug it in and didn't have any issues
with it. My Portable HDD also is encrypted with Truecrypt and I
haven't noticed any issues with it, either.
Hope this helps;
Ian

Solving site load issues with database replication is a lot like
solving your own personal problems with heroin -- at first, it sorta
works, but after a while things just get out of hand.
