Yes, works as advertised ...

I tested it a few month ago with a 200 MB container file with a fat filesystem 
inside on an usb stick  so that I could use it on Linux and Windows. Maybe 
one could an ext2 fs as well if you install ext2 drivers on windows. On the 
windows side you need to install a driver, on Linux I had to mount it as 
root. There shall be a workaround for that but I didn't test it.
