X11 colors on Yellow Dog Linux 5.0.2

I just installed Yellow Dog 5.0.2 on a 450MHz G4 tower, and am
just getting my feet wet with Yellow Dog. Given that I'm now
running a Linux/Unix Special Interest Group at the local Apple
users group, I thought I should have some hands-on experience
with Linux on Apple.

The first thing I noticed is that X11 is complaining about
missing colors, minor ones like black. which makes for
``interesting'' xterms when I get black on black.

My first thought was that the rgb.txt file was missing, but it's
there in /usr/share/X11/rgb.txt, the same place as on CentOS 5
(I'm relatively new to Red Hat based systems coming from a
Caldera and SuSE Linux background so things aren't always where I
expect them to be).

Any colorful suggestions?
