I saw a table of how in 2004 they had 60 billion cash reserves but there 
was some huge purchases and other expenses that were eating into it and 
by this year it was down to the figure you quoted.

I think some of the things that ate into it was: Vista not being 
accepted as well as it should, overheating Xbox's causing massive 
recalls and refunds, the many court cases and fines they have etc. I 
can't find the weblink thaty had the info but from memory these were 
contributing to the cash reserve drain.

I am loving the fact that because of Open Source software we can now get 
Office 200x Pro for 400 instead of 700+ AUD (not that I am buying it).
