For any who are interested (hmmm! deafening silence in the room), the
latest Sidux intermediate release is now available. Not really
important for those who are already running Sidux, since current
updates are at the same level., but a good entry point for those
wishing to install since at this point you don't need a #@!%pot of
upgrades after installing.

Sid has caught up with the current craze for reworking the Sysv init
scripts to promote parallel startup. On Fedora and Ubuntu (I think)
the new function is called upstart. On Debian it's insserv. Per one
user who is running a light weight desktop manager (not the standard
KDE), with insserv activated boot to running on the desktop takes only
20 seconds.
There are very few bug reports at present, mostly nitpicks.
Kernel 2.6.27 with support for some newer wireless chipsets.
