Debian installations

This is mostly for Lonnie. I just wanted to followup on some comments
he made about manual vs automated installs, etc.

While I don't have a need to do _fully_ automated installs, I think
there's some confusion about network installs and just how manual they
are or how much they can be automated.

I use on my network installs a "preseed" file. This is not a _fully_
automated install, but ensures some things are done for me. Some
things I need to do regardless because in most cases, the systems I
need to set up are unique to each client.

That said, I use netboot/pxe/tftp, have my own Debian mirror (of
binaries -- some 32Gb) and preseed files. I don't use FAI because I
can't (but sounds like the answer for Lonnie).

I will defer further discussion after interested folks get a chance to
review this document:
http://users.telenet.be/mydotcom/howto/linux/automatic.htm

It pretty much covers fully automated, partially automated versus
completely manual installs.

Ciao,
