Printer suggestion?

You didn't mention your budget and I'm guessing this is for personal use but 
not a $100 special! Over the years I've used Okidata, HP & Xerox, but for the 
past three years I've purchased nothing but Ricoh. I've found them to be 
competatively priced, good performers, reliable and the service had been 
excellent (with a commercial multifunction system we qualify for onsite 
service). This one, for personal use, might work for you:

It comes standard with Postscript 3 and duplex printing. I notice, on the 
Ricoh website, that under scanning it cautions "Windows Only". I know that 
here, at my office, my ability to access the scanner function of my 
Lanier/Ricoh LD425C is limited. I've never tried to access it with SANE and 
there are a number of features I can access only if I boot a copy of Windows 
in VMware Workstation. But, I was easily able to set it up to scan to an FTP 
server using the front panel, which worked well enough for my purposes.
