ubuntu boot problem

Clearly you have a problem with your fstab file. I would suggest that
you boot with some live cd (Ubuntu, GParted, etc) and run dumpe2fs on
that partition. It is possible that the UUID number is wrong. Also you
might try changing the fstab to mount the device instead of the UUID.
When I upgraded to Feisty my fstab was changed from:
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
to:
UUID=fee8b841-0134-469a-b6ea-851d0654d20d / ext3
defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
Try putting it back to the /dev version.
