This is very much like the vi / emacs or reserfs /anything else
debates. Many agree with you; others maintain (and have the experience
to back it up) that the the higher-end WD drives are just as / more
reliable than anything else. I've had nothing but grief over the years
with reserfs, but many folks swear by it.
