The first problem is how to get the machine to boot from CDROM as I don't
see anything that allows one to select the boot sequence.

The last time I was involved in installing anything on a Compaq was
installing SCO Openserver 5.0.6 on a Proliant, and this was handled through
some kind of quickstart CD (or something to that effect).
