That reminds me of a DynaKit I built while in college that had a
wire soldered into the board, sticking straight up, not attached
to anything. The explanation in the instructions said something
to the effece, just do it, it works.
I still have the Dyna FM-3 FM stereo tuner I built in the early
'60s, as well as a Dyna pre-amp which is plugged into my Mac with
an iMike allowing me to rip music from my 1966 vintage Thorens
turntable. The preamp obviously is still working, but I don't
know about the FM-3. I also have a Dyna stereo 120 amp with one
dead channel if anybody's interest, they can have it for the cost
of shipping.
