We'll see how the 7.0.4 goes. It is loading as we speak.
The boot sequence complains about 1999 BIOS.
I escaped to the boot: prompt, then entered ``live noapm nolapm''. It took
a long time to come up to a desktop, with very poor graphics. I then
started the install from the desktop, set it to install on a spare
partition, leaving the original partitions untouched. I'll see what it
looks like when it gets done.

The TP600 has no built-in wireless. I have a couple of CardBus wireless
cards as well as the USB wireless that I've been using for several years
with SuSE. I'll try these when the installation is complete.
FWIW: I tried using ``noapm apci=off'' as suggested with a CentOS 5.0 CD,
and it paniced as it had before with the last part of the display shown
below. This CD has been used several times with kickstart installs so I
doubt that it's bad.
