For what it's worth, while I _do_ have advansys.c & advansys.h
in /usr/src/linux/drivers/scsi the stock Debian kernel source (Etch) does
_not_ include the module advansys.ko
in /lib/modules/2.6.18-5-amd64/kernel/drivers/scsi. What's more I've not been
able to find any way to enable it in make menuconfig.
I did find this email message between Andrew Morton & others in a google
search: http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0604.2/0921.html
inwhich it says "The advansys driver has been disabled for two years - since
2.6.8" and goes on to say how to enable it.
That's a long time ago and the company Advansys seems to have gone bye-bye, so
it may still be disabled. I'll leave it to those of you more knowledgeable in
kernel hacking to figure this out. :-)
Cheers!
