My experience with 7.04 on wireless was not very enchanting. I would
recommend xubuntu 1.10 (now in Beta).

If the 600 has an Atheros chip like my R51, the restricted-drivers
will bring in the madwifi code. Also, network manager (even Fedora is
using it now!) was miserable on 7.04, much improved on 7.10. My
wireless works without a hitch.
