not sure if OT or nOT : Oracle < Linux < Vmware < XP

I have a PC running Windows XP with VMware which has Linux ( FC7 ) as 
the guest OS. Oracle XE is installed in this guest os.

When I import a database image from another Oracle instance, the whole 
system just hangs at a same point where the object TABLE_STATISTICS in 
processed.

The WHOLE system hangs : mouse, keyboard, network, usb ... all are not 
responding. Only the reset button is working :(

Already tried three times.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

( The same installation went fine on my notebook ).
