OT: Recommend an IM provider

Google Talk -- basically, the Jabber protocol.  I tried to talk Doug
into putting up a Linux SxS jabber server for us, but ...

I use Pidgin.  I understand it's also available for other platforms.
Pidgin talk Jabber (XMMP), MSN, Yahoo, Gadu-gadu, and lots others I
have no clue what are (than being IM).

I've set up jabber servers for some client companies for private
internal communications and they love it.
