If it's to be reused and your paranoia level is high enough... there's no good
answer or solution. If the drive is to be be trashed... it has to be
destroyed. Nothing short of total destruction will guarantee complete
protection of the data within. The platters must be destroyed.
That's the policy my employer has taken and that's what we enforce.
