Automagically generate xorg.conf?

Well, in theory, a config file could be put anyplace on a system --
but to what point?  How would you find it?  (Sounds like the M$ way.)

What is not functional about it?  You almost certainly have to edit
the mouse portion (I always have to).  But the monitor portion should
at least have lines that will give you a screen.  Whether the default
resolution is what you want or not is another problem.
