I probably wouldn't notice this as our machines typically get
rebooted very rarely -- generally measured by power failures that
don't wake me up to put the systems on generator.  The last time
this happened was a bit over six months ago, and 900+ days prior
to that.

It is practically impossible to teach good programming style to
students that have had prior exposure to BASIC: as potential
programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of
regeneration.
