My impression is lightzone is written in java, but seems to have unique 
graphics code for linux vs windows. The developers have stopped linux 
support and have no linux versions available. Bummer, since what they 
say about it on the forums is pretty fantastic. It seems one of the 
developers used linux and believed in the open source community's give 
and take, but apparently that has changed. Maybe version 2.1 for linux 
might be found out there somewhere, don't know. I would like to try it 
myself, althought I don't use raw. They say jpg editing is lossless in 
lightzone, and the interface is simple and effective.
