I'm converting!!!!

I knew you wouldn't elieve it.  Im in Kilgore, Texas.  I'm trying to
convert my youngest Grandson to Linux.  We've got Ubuntu & Kbuntu 6.06. 
He just left to get fitted for a tux for his big brother's wedding.  So I
can't give you any hardwaw specs.  But when we try to boot the Linux CDs
they both stall just after loading the drivers, et all.  The Kbuntu seems
to go a bit farther??  It stalls with a blank screen and a small
unblinking cursur in the upper left hand corner.  I haven't tried the Safe
Mode, yet.  Try that know.  Using an old Kubuntu live disk to send this.
