I have been noodling away at Opensource apps for a while now. Getting to
the point where I'm finding them the app of choice even when I have M$
stuff installed.
I just had the need to scavenge a large number of images from a certain
well known Internet mega-corporate and tile them together. The solution:
ImageMagick using the PerlMagick interface. It's amazing how versatile
Opensource software is.
I also had to remake the company logo at work... GIMP for the graphic,
import into Inkscape to add nice text, export as png/png/eps and done.
Even my network diagrams are getting better since using dia is now
second nature.
