All right, I know, you're saying "that's a problem"?

Here's the summary:
1. Have previously loaded windoze98 on an old Intel 440BX/PII MB from
several CD/DVD ROM/burners. Have original windoze98 CD and boot floppy.

2. New hardware: Gigabyte MB, SATA drives, CD or DVD ROM/burner
plugged into IDE Secondary Master, temporary floppy for use with windoze
boot floppy

3. Same CD/DVD readers/burners will readily boot/install linux when
used with the Gigabyte MB.

4. windoze98 CD cannot be seen by the windoze98 setup on boot floppy
when used with the Gigabyte MB.

5. Gigabyte MB has the most up-to-date BIOS flashed.

Does anyone have a clue of where I should look?
Thanks.
