Well, Red Crap and Novell I understand (they also install Grub by
default), and Ubuntu is following their leader (sic), but Debian has a
default desktop/luv for Gnome?  I've installed Debian using the
testing net install more times than I care to count and never noticed
any desktop partiality at all.  In fact, I just select Openbox and wdm
and no KDE or Gnome is ever even mentioned.  In fact, wdm doesn't even
require windowmaker (or is that widowmaker?).

I must be doing something wrong.
