Well, for me, the problem is that the temptation to upgrade is just too
strong to resist -- especially for Fedora Core 6. One look at Beryl, and
you'll know what I'm talking about. I've tried all the Fedora releases,
and I have to say that each time, I tell myself I will hold out till the
next release before upgrading, and each time I succumb to temptation.
IIRC, for FC2 it was the newer kernel; for FC3 and FC4 it was the
promise of stability; for FC5, it was just curiosity; and for FC6, it
was for Beryl. I'll probably upgrade to FC7 when it comes out, for
Firefox 2.0 and hopefully a more stable version of Beryl!

Of all the releases so far, I love FC6 the best because it actually has
a GUI that I am not ashamed to show my friends and ex-colleagues. The
downside is that FC6 seems to have the most updates, and (to me) is the
least stable of the FC releases -- but I am willing to put up with
periodic system hangs (from Firefox 1.5) just for the eye-candy. There
are also some fragile applications in FC6, such as Gaim, which seems to
kill itself every time there is an update.

Bugs and security aside, I think you'll find that you will be drawn into
the upgrade treadmill -- the temptation will be too great, and
resistance is futile !
