USB errors

I have a USB rack that holds 4 disks. I'm getting these sorts of errors when 
using the device under heavy load:

Jun 26 18:57:56 miriam kernel: [42959787.580000] usb 1-1: reset full speed USB 
device using uhci_hcd and address 2
Jun 26 19:25:29 miriam kernel: [42961433.910000] usb 1-1: reset full speed USB 
device using uhci_hcd and address 2
Jun 26 19:26:52 miriam kernel: [42961516.980000] usb 1-1: reset full speed USB 
device using uhci_hcd and address 2

Jun 26 19:46:41 miriam kernel: [42962700.790000] usb 1-1: reset full speed USB 
device using uhci_hcd and address 2

This will go on for a while before it just hangs and the kernel declares it a 
dead device.

Any thoughts of anything that could be done about it?
