Here is another interesting point running XFCE. I log in and use it for 
about 5-10 minutes and then all of a sudden mouse/keyboard input stops. 
I can use move the mouse around the screen but can't click on anything.

The keyboard is not frozen because I can press numlock and it's light 
goes on and off

I can't use ALT+TAB to cycle windows.

I end up killing the session with CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE and relogin with 
gnome which fixes the freeze issue.

I'm really starting to get curious as to why XFCE is borked. Perhaps 
it's not communicating with dbus properly?
