Maybe not an idiot, but possibly misguided. /dev/obt# appears to be an Oracle 
thing. I found the following page discussing Oracle Secure Backup for Linux & 
Solaris, which requires /dev/obt# nodes for tape drives and /dev/obl# nodes 
for tape libraries:
