I haven't had nearly as many issues with cups as I have with lprng,
particularly since cups added SYSV ``lp'' compatibility so I can use my
standard printer interface scripts on ascii printers instead of the rather
cumbersome PostScript(tm) to whatever interfaces that are required to
support much of the Windows madness.

That's fine if you're willing to put up with the limitations of the
Berkeley lpd interface which isn't nearly as flexible as the SYSV.
