I get a chuckle from the number (seemingly myriad) users who have a
problem with sudo. I just enther sudo su -, enter my password, and
root to my heart's content. If that really twists your nickers, you
have two choices

1. Update sudoers so that you can 'sudo su -' without a password.
2. use 'sudo su -' plus password, then 'passwd' and set an actual root
password. Then you can 'su -' using the root password.

Can you spell BFD?
