NVidia Debian thread

It's all a tempest in a teapot. Debian has a long and honorable
tradition of doing it one way, and RH et al do it another way. It's a
big deal to me whether I [tel]init 3 or /etc/init.d/[gdm|kdm] stop to
stop the X server. And it's a super big deal what my normal runlevel
is.

It is slightly more convenient on those rare occasions when I won't to
be able to startup in a fully active level with no Xserver just to be
able to select runlevel 3 (the RH way), but there are ways of doing
that on Debian as well.

Just an aside, I've always believed that the LSB was written by those
who believe that RH === Linux, so I'm not at all surprised to find the
RH runlevels approach.
