I use debian testing, installed using the rc2 (or was it rc3) net 
installer. I am very happy with it, except for the odd dispute with 
mozilla about firefox and thunderbird, which are repackaged as iceweasel 
and icedove. Functionally they are the same (at least so far), just 
different (non-proprietory) graphics. apt-get/dpkg/synaptic update 
system is the best (imho).

The nvidia installer needs some kernel source, header or tree packages 
installed. Can't remember which, exactly.
