No NVIDIA driver has any limits on the resolution (mode) you can use. 
Such limits are determined soley by the capabilities of your hardware.

1.0-9629 is a really old beta driver that I wouldn't use for anything. 
You should be using 1.0-9631 (if your card is older than NV3x) or 
1.0-9746.
